No one enjoys adversity, especially when you are in the thick of experiencing it. But adversity exists for a reason. Adversity tells you that you are on the wrong track; that your processes and actions are wrong; that the variable assumptions you made were wrong.
And this forces you to find processes and take actions and better understand your business model’s variables in order to deliver you the results you desire.
In short, adversity forces you to get better at whatever it is you do.
And that is an important gift adversity gives you – the gift of the need to improve/evolve.
But, another very valuable gift adversity provides is opportunity.
When adversity forces you to peel the onion to figure out what is going wrong, that is when you notice opportunities that you never saw before. Adversity opens up your eyes. It forces you to put on different lenses in which to view your reality.
Once you start looking through the lens of reality, you will begin to see more clearly. And, in that moment of clarity, you will be exposed to aha moments that reveal to you opportunities that 10X your success factor.
Opportunities are omnipresent – they are all around you. You only begin to see those opportunities when adversity forces you to change the way you see the world around you.
