Every human being is born with a very special gene that has given us space flight, computer technology, the Mona Lisa, the Eiffel Tower, the Beatles, the iPhone, cures for small pox and polio and many amazing things.
When “turned on” through use, this gene grows stronger, just like a muscle. When this gene is toggled on, it produces elevated levels of serotonin and dopamine, also known as happiness neurotransmitters.
That’s why I like to call this gene, the Happiness Gene.
The only way to turn your Happiness Gene on is to engage in creative activities on a daily basis. Or, said another way – you need to make creativity a daily habit.
The more you pursue creative activities, the more powerful your Happiness Gene becomes and the more fulfilled your life will seem.
We are the only species on earth that has been blessed with this Happiness Gene. Its very existence has helped propel humanity to engage in amazing creative pursuits. When we create, we are rewarded with neurochemicals that induce the feeling we call happiness.
Find a creative pursuit and get happy!
