One of the self-made millionaires told me that he began exercising aerobically every day for 30 minutes and that that one habit helped him create complimentary habits, such as eating healthy, ending his cigarette addiction and moderating his consumption of alcohol. It also gave him more energy during the day, making him more productive.
In 2008, at age 70, he sold his business for $4 million and retired with about $17 million in wealth.
Many of the millionaires I interviewed similarly mentioned that they owed their success and wealth in life to their daily habits. Consistency appears to be a common denominator among the successful and the rich.
Consistency separates the winners from the losers.
Consistency separates the successful from the unsucessful.
Consistency separates the rich from the poor.
Consistency separates the high achievers from the underachievers.
Consistency separates the healthy from the unhealthy.
Consistency separates the trustworthy from the untrustworthy
To program yourself to be consistent use the following Success Mantras:
“Every Day I (fill in the blank)”.
Examples:
- Every Day I Exercise 30 Minutes.
- Every Day I Purse My Goals.
- Every Day I Consume Less Than 2,000 Calories.
- Every day I Eat Healthy.
- Every Day I Read to Learn 30 Minutes.
- Every Day I Practice My Main Marketable Skills.
- Every Day I Express Gratitude For 3 Things That Went Right Yesterday.
- Every Day I Tell Those I Love, I Love You.
- Every Day I Floss My Teeth.
- Every Day I Drink 20 Ounces of Water
The reality is, we’re not perfect. We’re not machines. I have my own “Every Day” List and if I complete 30% of my Every Days, I consider that day to be a success.
Last I checked, 30% is more than 0%. And that 30% has dramatically transformed my life.
When I began my “Every Day” Success Mantras, in July 2007, I weighed 210 pounds. Today, I am consistently between 185 – 195. I was $1.8 Million in debt back in 2007, with a net worth of maybe $100,000. Today I still have debt but it is less than $500,000 and my net worth is approximately $2.6 million.
The Success Mantra works. If it can work for me, a former Janitor, it can work for you.
