There are three ways confident people become confident:

  1. Daily Practice
    • Skill-Based Practice – If what you do for a living depends on some skill or skills, then in order to gain confidence in your skills, you will need to engage in Repetitive and Analytical Practice. Repetitive Practice is simply practicing your primary and subsidiary skill-sets for 3 – 4 hours each day. Analytical Practice is practice that requires feedback. Think coach, trainer or mentor – individuals with expert skills who watch you performing those skills and who provide expert feedback in order to help you get to the next level.
    • Knowledge-Based Practice – Daily study in pursuit of maintaining or growing your knowledge in your particular field. The more you engage in daily study, the greater your confidence will be.
  2. Survive Adversity – Those who are able to survive adversity, lose their fear of adversity and this gives them great confidence in themselves. So, surviving adversity is a big confidence booster.
  3. Succeed – Those who ultimately succeed in realizing their dreams, goals or any initiative, become very confident in themselves. So, confidence also grows through success.
